What is HSK?
HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) is the international standardized test for assessing the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers in everyday, academic, and professional contexts. It consists of 9 levels, starting from the basic level HSK1.
HSK is useful and necessary because:
- It provides the necessary qualifications for foreign students in China.
- It provides the necessary qualifications for scholarships from the Confucius Institutes and participation in summer camps.
- It provides opportunities to participate in the Confucius China Study Program with scholarships for doctoral studies.
When and where will the HSK exams take place?
The exams will take place on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the University Campus of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (the exact location will be announced in advance).
HSK 1: 1:30 PM (duration: about 40 minutes)
HSK 2: 9:00 AM (duration: about 45 minutes)
HSK 3: 1:30 PM (duration: about 90 minutes)
HSK 4: 9:00 AM (duration: about 100 minutes)
The Confucius Institute of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as one of the HSK examination centres, organises the examinations for HSK 1, HSK 2, HSK3 and HSK 4. All examinations are in paper form.
Who can take the exam?
All interested individuals can take the HSK exam through the Confucius Institute at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, not just our students.
What is the cost of the exams?
The exam fees are as follows:
HSK 1: 50 euros, HSK 2: 60 euros, HSK 3: 80 euros, HSK 4: 100 euros.
What is the procedure?
- You can visit the exam website (chinesetest.cn), find the examination center 'Confucius Institute at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,' and select the proficiency level at which you wish to take the exam.
- You must pay the exam fees by May 6, 2022. Otherwise, your participation will be automatically canceled.
- Please ensure that all your information is correct. If you have not yet paid the exam fees, you can log into the platform and update your personal information. After payment of the fees, please contact us for confirmation. Please send us a copy of your payment receipt (in PDF format) to confucius-institute@auth.gr.
- Your examination ticket will be ready on the Monday of the examination week, and you will be able to find and print it from the platform.
Preparation for the exams
The Confucius Institute at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki provides official sample exams for HSK1, HSK2, HSK3, and HSK4 levels.

When will the exam results be announced?
On June 26, 2022, candidates can access the platform (www.chinesetest.cn), enter their personal examination ticket number and name, and view their results. Printed results will be sent to the Confucius Institute at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 45 days after the examination date. Candidates can collect them by presenting their ID and examination ticket.
