The courses at the IC of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are organized in academic semesters. Each semester consists of 15 weeks of classes, where each week there are (1 time) 3 teaching hours of classes. The levels of language proficiency offered at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are:

• Elementary A
• Elementary B
• Elementary C
• Elementary D
• Intermediate A
• Intermediate B
• Intermediate D

Start - End of Classes

• Winter semester classes start in mid-September and end in late January. Spring semester classes start in mid-February and run until the end of June.
• Exact dates are announced every year.
• The call for expressions of interest is announced for the winter semester in June-July and for the spring semester in December-January.

Examinations at the Confucius Institute of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

At the end of each course, there are exams on the material that has been taught. These exams are organized by the Confucius Institute and are not related to the official Chinese language proficiency certification exams (HSK).

• The language of instruction for the courses is English.
• Certificate of Attendance - At the end of each semester, a certificate of attendance and successful participation in the examinations of the Confucius Institute at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) is provided.

Yes, the following are offered: Spoken Chinese & Introduction to the Chinese Characters. Please keep an eye on the IS announcements.

At the end of each semester some examinations are organised at the IC of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Regardless of the result of the exams you can continue in the next semester. These exams have nothing to do with the official certification exams.

There are two types of certificates: one for attending the course and passing the examinations and one for attending the course only, if there is no success in the examinations. The certificate issued by the IC has nothing to do with the official certification of Chinese language proficiency

The announcement of the opening of applications for expressions of interest is made at the end of each semester for the following semester.

If you wish to repeat the course at your own risk, you pay the same amount.

Tuition fees are paid in one lump sum on the dates indicated in the announcement and correspond to one academic semester of courses. If you have any difficulties with the one-off payment of tuition fees, please contact us.

Refunds are only possible within the first 10 days from the start of the classes. To request a refund, you must follow the provided instructions.

The IC reserves the right to change the amount of tuition fees according to the level. Please see the announcements each semester.
