SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarships (Type A & B) is only available to new applicants who apply for Undergraduate, Master, and Doctoral degree programs.

Type A (Full scholarship):

Available only for graduate programs. Covers tuition fees and accommodation fees during the regular years of study, and provides comprehensive insurance. Besides, the scholarship of living cost is given out every month after enrollment to the university, to M.D. students RMB 3000 per month, and to Ph.D. students RMB 3500 per month.

Type B (Partial scholarship):

Available both for undergraduate and graduate programs. Covers tuition fee during the regular years of study and fee of comprehensive insurance.

AVAILABLE MAJORS FOR APPLYING

★ TCSOL of Hongkou Campus and Master of International Chinese Language Education are NOT covered by this scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

2. Applicants for undergraduate programs should be high school graduates and not older than 25 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of the degree program.

Applicants for master’s programs should have obtained a bachelor’s degree and not be older than 35 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of the degree program;

Applicants for doctoral studies should have obtained a master’s degree and not be older than 40 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of the degree program;

3. Applicants should be diligent and hardworking with outstanding academic achievements and good attendance records.

4. Applicants should not be holding any other scholarships.

★ It is necessary to meet the other requirements of Regulations for the enrollment of students by SISU.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Step 1：Apply Online

Apply online through SISU online application system http://apply.shisu.edu.cn , fill out the application information, and upload E-copies of all the required application documents and the Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship (DOWNLOAD at bottom).

Step 2：Pay the application fee

Undergraduate programs at Hongkou campus: 450 RMB or overseas transfer of 75 USD. Undergraduate programs at Songjiang campus: 750 RMB or overseas transfer of 125 USD. Master and Doctoral programs: 800 RMB or overseas transfer of 130 USD.

Payment methods:

1.Pay it directly in the SISU online application system

2.Pay through bank transfer, and upload the payment voucher to SISU online application system.

★Please indicate the applicant’s name or application number in the remittance details. Accepted or not, the application fee is non-refundable.

Step 3: Confirm submission of SISU online application

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS FOR SISU ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM (except for ID photo, all documents must be submitted in PDF format)：

For Undergraduate Programs

1. Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship (DOWNLOAD at bottom)

2. Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.

3. Photocopy of HSK certificate.

4. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (written in English or Chinese) (DOWNLOAD at bottom). Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.

5. Non-criminal certificate (written in English or Chinese).

6. Photocopy of passport.

7. If you graduate from high school in China, please submit your parents’ passport.

8. Personal ID photo.

9. Offline remittance voucher of the Application Fee (or pay it directly in the application system).

★ It is necessary to meet the other required documents of Regulations for the enrollment of students by SISU.

For Master and Doctoral Programs

1. Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship (DOWNLOAD at bottom)

2. Acceptance Letter from supervisor for PhD Applicants at SISU, (DOWNLOAD at bottom). Please DOWNLOAD at bottom for the name list of the doctoral supervisors.

3. Highest diploma: prospective diploma recipients must submit an official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4. Academic transcripts: transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with original notarized Chinese or English translations.

5. Photocopy of HSK certificate or English proficiency certification (If applicable).

6. A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English, 1000 words minimum).

7. Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English); Master’s program applicants are required to submit recommendation letters signed by professors or associate professors, and doctoral program applicants are required to submit recommendation letters signed by professors.

Notes

Applicants must upload the Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship when applying online at SISU online application system. Failure to upload the Application form will be considered as self-funded application.

After receiving the application documents, SISU will contact the applicants by email or phone call. Please keep your cell phone on and frequently check your email.

A written examination will be organized by SISU in April and May of 2024, and those who pass the written examination will be eligible to enter the interview. Please make sure your email address is correct and check your email occasionally, you will receive some IMPORTANT INFORMATION, eg. the arrangement of examination, etc.

Please note: Each applicant has only one chance to take the entrance examination, and the examination is only for the “The First Major Applying” in the “Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship Application Form”.

After the entrance exam, the university will decide the nominated candidates. The final scholarship admission results are to be published in late June or early July on our website http://www.oisa.shisu.edu.cn/

Scholarship recipients are required to register at SISU on the date specified on the admission notice. Students who arrive late without approval in advance will not have their Scholarship reserved；For newly enrolled scholarship students who apply for extension of admission, scholarship eligibility will not be reserved.

Scholarship recipients shall not change their host university, the field of study, or duration of the study;

Scholarship recipients must participate in annual reviews for scholarships. Students who fail to pass the annual review will have their scholarships suspended or canceled.

All application documents must have original documents in preparation for admission inspection. The scholarship will be revoked for those who provide a false document.

2024年上海外国语大学国际中文教师奖学金申请办法

01项目类别

国际中文教育专业本科、

国际中文教育专业硕士研究生、

非学历进修（一学期/一学年）、

四周暑假/寒假进修

02 申请条件

01 资助对象

1）非中国籍人士；

2）对华友好，无违法犯罪记录，遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度；

3）身心健康，品学兼优；

4）有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作；

5）年龄为16-35周岁（统一以 2024年9月1日计）在职中文教师放宽至45周岁，本科奖学金申请者一般不超过25周岁。

02 各类别项目申请条件

国际中文教育专业硕士研究生

2024年9月入学，资助期限为2年。申请者需具有大学本科学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK(五级） 210分、HSKK (中级)60分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。

国际中文教育专业本科生

2024年 9月入学，资助期限为 4 年。申请者需具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK(四级)210分、HSKK(中级)60分。

一学年研修生

2024年9月入学,资助期限为11个月。国际中文教育方向,汉语考试成绩达到HSK (三级）270 分，具有 HSKK成绩；汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，汉语考试成绩达到HSK (四级180分、HSKK（中级）60 分；汉语研修方向，汉语考试成绩达到HSK (三级）210分，提供 HSKK成绩者优先。

一学期研修生

2024年9月、2025年 3月入学，资助期限为5个月。国际中文教育、汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，汉语考试成绩达到HSK (三级）180分，具有 HSKK 成绩；中医、太极文化方向，具有 HSK成绩，同时提供HSKK成绩者优先。

四周研修生

2024年7月或12月入学,资助期限为4周。汉语研修、中医、太极文化、汉语言＋中国家庭体验等方向，具有 HSK 成绩。可由推荐机构组团进行报名,并事先联系接收院校确定在华学习计划，提前报中心审批，每团10-15人。

03 资助内容

免学费

免住宿费：学校为奖学金生提供的免费宿舍为双人间，房间内有卫生间；经奖学金生申请、接收院校批准，选择校外住宿者，由学校按月发放住宿费700元人民币/月。

在华生活费：按月发放，本科生、一学年和一学期研修生标准为2500元人民币/月；国际中文教育专业硕士生为 3000元人民币/月。

4

综合医疗保险费：学校参照中国教育部来华留学有关规定统一购买，标准为800元人民币/人/年。

05 申请流程

3月1日起登录http://www.chinese.cn 国际中文教师奖学金模块，提交材料完成申请（无需缴纳报名费）。申请材料如下：

01 与所有申请者有关的证明材料

1.护照照片页扫描件；

2.HSK、HSKK 成绩报告（有效期两年）扫描件；

3.推荐机构负责人的推荐信；

02 与学历生有关的证明材料

4.提供最高学历证明（毕业预期证明）和在校学习成绩单；

5.国际中文教育专业博士须提供两封相关专业领域内的副教授（含）以上或具有相当专业技术职称专家的推荐信。提供中文个人陈述（含对报考学科专业的认识、拟定研究计划，3000字左右）。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先；

6.国际中文教育专业硕士须提供两名副教授以上职称导师的推荐信。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议者优先资助。在职中文教师须附上就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。

06 其他

1

未满18周岁的申请者，须提交在华监护人署名的委托证明文件。申请者还须提供接收院校要求的其他证明材料。

2

关于推荐机构，主要由以下几类，申请者需自行联系：

1）运营半年以上的孔子学院/独立设置的孔子课堂；

2）具有奖学金推荐权的汉语水平考试(HSK)考点；

3）“汉语桥”比赛海外赛区主办机构：中国驻外使（领）馆教育、文化处（组）、孔子学院及相关教育机构，请咨询chinesebridge@chinese.cn。

一学期研修项目和一学年研修项目原则上不录取3年内享受过同类奖学金的申请者。
